Registration Information
Classes
Students may register for classes by completing the form below and mailing or faxing it to the Conservatory at 50 Oak Street, San Francisco, CA, 94102 or (fax) 415-503-6299. Students may also register over the phone with a credit card by calling 415-503-6229.
Fees for classes must be paid before the first class meeting. A $15 non-refundable registration fee is required to enroll. Remember to mark your calendar with class dates and times.
Private Lessons
Individual Instruction is offered on all orchestral instruments as well as piano, organ, harpsichord, harp, guitar and voice, regardless of a student's musical background or artistic goal. Students enrolled in private lessons have the opportunity to perform in the Recital Hall and in master classes with well-known musicians. Applicants must audition for private lessons. Auditions are fifteen minutes long and applicants will be asked to perform two contrasting works.
To schedule an audition, please fill out and submit the form below with a non-refundable $15 application fee. Once the form is received, you will be contacted to schedule an audition time.

Tuition and Fees
The Conservatory strives to maintain reasonable tuition fees. Tuition for private lessons (1 hour once a week) is $1,445 per semester. Select faculty members require different tuition rates. Please contact the Adult Extension office for more information. Payment must be received before the start of lessons. If unable to complete tuition payment before lessons begin, you may arrange a deferred payment plan by contacting the Adult Extension Office at 415-503-6283.
Refunds
Students who drop a class must do so in writing before the second meeting in order to receive a refund of the class tuition less the $15 registration fee and a $10 drop fee. No refunds will be made after the second class meeting. If a class is cancelled students will receive a full refund.
Library Policy
A $25.00 refundable library deposit is required of all new students. Once tuition fees have been paid, a student ID card with a library barcode will be issued
Make-Up Policy
The Adult Extension Division does not provide make-ups for classes or lessons missed by students. If instructors cancel a class or lesson, a make-up session will be scheduled.

The Conservatory offers approximately 350 concerts a year, most of them free of charge to the public. Visit our
